[ JOEL ] IS NOT HERE
[ 1952 - 2022 ]
Betsy Rainer, Joel Rainer’s widow of 41 years recounts how he loved teaching, and worked within some of the earliest cath-lab environments.
Like many Betsy hopes that there are continued advancements to solutions that protect both body and head against radiation in the cath lab
Joel is deeply missed by those that knew him

Elissa (Rainer) Pelton tells us of Joel’s passion for interventional cardiology. She wonders if the concept of “negotiating for our lead” is a flawed concept and leaves those exposed to radiation without the best possible protection.
Joel’s story like many others, remind us of why the continuous innovation and adoption of new radiation prevention technologies is so crucial.
